Tenuta Castello di Morcote, Vico Morcote

Tenuta Castello di Morcote extends over a vast promontory surrounded by Lake Ceresio: 150 hectares of unspoiled nature with a unique soil in Ticino, consisting of rose porphyry, a rock of volcanic origin.

In the heart of the estate - in a panoramic position overlooking the lake - lies the 15th century castle. The winery, family-run since the 1930s, cultivates its own 7 hectares of vineyards with slopes of 30% in Morcote and manages other 6 hectares in the Mendrisiotto region.Viticulture is accurate, mainly manual. The vineyard is scrupulously worked in organic management, certified since 2017, and from 2020 the principles of biodynamics have been followed, too.The winery's goal is to obtain grapes of the highest quality in order to create authentic wines as an expression of the terroir they come from.The company's wines can be purchased directly on site. The shop is open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday, from 9 am to 4 pm.

The company offers unique experiences linked to good wine, but also good food, in the name of sustainability and respect for nature, in order to allow everyone to appreciate the beauty of this place:

Wine tastings, including a walk in the vineyard and a guided tour of the cellar, from Wednesday to Saturday, at 10.30 am and 4 pm.

Wine & Dine, a food and wine experience beginning with a panoramic aperitif in the herb garden, around our Ring of Fire. Afterwards, you can take part in a guided tour of the cellar and enjoy the dinner with wine and food pairings in the room overlooking the barrel cellar, in order to experience a fascinating tasting journey "from the vineyard to the glass". Dinner in the vineyard, a magical dinner under the starry sky. After a visit to the cellar and a short panoramic walk in the vineyards, you can enjoy an aperitif at sunset within the historic walls of Morcote Castle, with a spectacular view on the lake, before sitting down for dinner, immersed among the rows of the vineyard.
