A treasure to be discovered

Today, in Switzerland, some twelve locations have been chosen by UNESCO to be listed as World Heritage Sites. Two of these pearls are in Ticino.

But that's not all: since December 2019 there is also room for an asset of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO, the Processions of Holy Week in Mendrisio. Come and discover them!

Bellinzona’s three castles and fortified walls have been listed since 2000. Take the small train Artù. You will be reaching for your camera when you visit Castelgrande, Montebello and Sasso Corbaro castles, along with their museums. You can’t help falling in love with them!

Three castles, a deposit of thousands of fossils and an Intangible Cultural Heritage that is renewed every year. In Mendrisio, the Holy Week Processions are strongly rooted in the reality of the region and beyond.
