Ticino Musica Festival

Boasting +40 years of experience, this international meeting of young musicians- known today as TICINO MUSICA- long ago became a genuine, fully-fledged festival with more than 80 events during two weeks in summer, which take place all over Ticino.

Our aim is to spread classical music and opera of a high calibre all over Ticino, with promising young artists and great maestros.

Our festival rests on 4 pillars, adhering faithfully to this philosophy:

  • Our Academy
  • Our international “Silvio Verviso” Opera Studio
  • Our concerts
  • Our contemporary music

Our Festival program is varied and complex, skillfully fusing art and learning in all their facets, and the various sections of the festival are firmly linked and perfectly complement each other.

Every year, Ticino Musica invites artists of great international prestige to hold high-quality masterclasses in singing, all the instruments used in symphony orchestras, and chamber music ranging from small groups to grand ensembles. We also offer an international Academy for young composers and an international Opera Studio.

The presence of more than 250 musicians coming from 40 nations, together in the same place at the same time, is a formula that gives life to an incredible multicultural intermingling built from collaborations in chamber groups or various ensembles. Through this, artistic connections that last are formed.

The goal of this festival is to enrich Ticino and Switzerland with an event of great significance for culture and tourism, and to simultaneously uphold musical traditions and pass them on to new generations.

???????Essential to our work are our active partnerships with institutions of the sector, such as the LAC Lugane Arte e Cultura cultural centre, the Museo Vincenzo Vela managed by the Swiss Confederation, Radiotelevisione Svizzera Italiana, not to mention numerous municipalities and cultural associations.
