New TILO connections to reach Airolo and the ski slopes of Upper Ticino from Lombardy
Starting with the 2026 timetable change and throughout the winter season, on weekends and public holidays the TILO S10 line will be extended to Airolo, offering two direct daily connections to the ski areas of Upper Ticino. Travellers departing from Lombardy will be able to reach the snow with ease, thanks to a service designed for both the outward and return journey.
The new timetable, valid from 14 December 2025 to 19 March 2026, introduces an important update for winter sports enthusiasts: two S10 trains will reach Airolo every day during weekends and holidays, also stopping in Faido. Thanks to the connection between the TILO S50 and the S10 in Mendrisio, travellers from the Varese and Como areas can reach the ski facilities in around two hours, without changing trains.
For the final part of the trip, convenient bus connections from Airolo and Faido stations lead directly to the ski resorts.
An additional benefit is available to holders of the Airolo Pesciüm ski day pass: the ticket also includes second-class transport valid across all zones of the Arcobaleno fare network.
