Typical cabin in the mountains of Faido (BAIT DAL GAT)

To switch off, immerse yourself in the wonder of mountain landscapes, staying in a place that seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale: the BAITA DAL GAT! This lovely typical mountain house in the Leventina region welcomes you with the warmth of wood, the main element of the whole house, and with many small details that will make you feel at home! Crossing the threshold on the first floor, you'll find on the left a modern, made-to-measure kitchen, with an induction hob, oven and dishwasher and everything you need to prepare and serve your meals, plus a typical wood-burning cooker. On the right, a large table with bench and chairs is ready to welcome the whole family or a group of friends for a dinner party!

Going up the ladder, you reach the attic room, where on the left there is a double bed and on the right a relaxation area with satellite TV and sofa, which converts into two single beds for the night. There is a service sink dividing the two rooms. Downstairs there is a bathroom with shower and a laundry room with washing machine and drying racks. Here you can also store your sports equipment (bicycles, skis). A 7 sqm balcony and a 30 sqm garden complete the house.

A set of towels is included in the stay for each person, along with sheets and blankets and a courtesy kit. We also leave a basket with the necessities for a breakfast.

Access: This is a SELF-CHECK-IN flat: we will not be present at the property at the time of your arrival, but at the time of confirmation of your booking you will receive an email with INSTRUCTIONS with photos and VIDEO for the entrance and parking; in addition, we will be available by phone for assistance. All commercial activities are forbidden inside the flat.

Surroundings: Sobrio is a picturesque mountain village, from which there are many hiking trails for walking and mountain biking in the summer and skiing with skins, snowmobiles and snowshoes for the winter season. Hiking maps are available in the house. Sobrio is also an intermediate stop along the famous Strada Alta della Leventina (45 km), a trek that starts in Airolo and ends in Biasca. Sobrio is only 25 minutes from the ski slopes of Carì.

Stroll among the little churches, the chalet-style houses and the Art Nouveau villas, which recall its glorious past as a holiday resort in the early 1900s! In Faido there are 3 supermarkets, a famous bakery that bakes typical products, 2 pharmacies, a butcher's shop and a dairy selling local products.

Among the most visited natural landscapes in the area are the wonderful Piumogna waterfalls, which are very popular with tourists in summer. For mountain lovers, there are many trekking routes on the peaks of Pizzo Pettine, Pizzo Molare, Pizzo Forno and Carì, famous for its ski area which is very popular during the winter. How to get there:
From the A2 motorway, take the Faido-Carì exit towards Lavorgo. Follow for Sobrio. Set the address on the GPS to reach the hut. If you are travelling by train, reach Lavorgo station (train direction Erstfeld) and from there take bus no. 124 direction "Sobrio, village" for 7 stops to the stop "Anzonico, village". In 7 minutes on foot you will reach the flat.
