gARTen – Thursday, 2nd July
On its second day, the gARTen festival continues to place human beings and their relationship with the environment at the centre of its reflection. The performances explore ecology, bodily memory and the ability to imagine the future through original artistic perspectives.
PROGRAMME
7.00 pm: The theatre performance “Meta Terra” is an attempt to imagine and map out a sustainable future starting from our present. On stage, participants from the theatre workshops of Teatro Faraggiana in Novara share their stories, creating narrative maps that open up new possibilities for the Earth.
8.45 pm: “Senza Coda” is a solo performance exploring the transformation of the body throughout human history, between animal instinct, desire and imagination. Suspended between instinct and control, Arianna Delle Gemme, graduate of the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, creates an ambiguous and ever-changing universe – both familiar and unknown – where irony and unease coexist.
9.15 pm: Marcello Malchiodi, another artist from the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, draws inspiration from Greek mythology in his solo “Icarus” to investigate the concept of imperfection: how far can the body sustain us, and when does it become a cage? A work rooted in raw physicality, exposing limits and fragilities while questioning social pressures and the constant feeling of never being enough.
10.00 pm: “Qualcosa vive” tells the story of three women who meet around a river that has now been devastated. The collective CouCou, a trio from the Accademia Teatro Dimitri, combines singing, acrobatics and spoken word to reflect on our relationship with nature and on the consequences of a system that turns everything into resource and profit.
