gARTen – Friday, 3rd July

The final day of the gARTen festival looks at the tensions of the present through works exploring the relationship between the individual and society, historical memory and economics.

PROGRAMME

7.00 pm: “Burnin’” by B.E.A.T. Teatro, guest company within the collaboration with the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, transforms a car into a scenic device to investigate burnout and the “fatigue society” described by Byung-Chul Han.
Between bodies, speed and enforced immobility, the vehicle’s interior becomes at once a cage, a refuge and the symbol of a relentless race that consumes human beings.

8.15 pm: Léna Sophia Bagutti-Khennouf presents “R.u.in.es”, a choreographic solo selected for Premio Schweiz 2024, exploring family memory and resistance. Drawing from Amazigh mythology and her Kabyle origins, the artist transforms the body into a space of deep investigation, searching for collective traces and unresolved stories passed down through generations.

9.15 pm: “In mutande” by Agemò teatro is an ironic and ruthless monologue moving through the great economic bubbles of Western history.
Blending stand-up comedy and storytelling theatre, and involving the audience directly, the performance demystifies finance and reflects on human fragility, showing how desire and greed continue to make us fall into the same traps.
