Shahryar Nashat. Streams of Spleen

MASI Lugano is presenting a major exhibition dedicated to the Swiss artist Shahryar Nashat (Geneva, 1975), featuring a striking immersive installation conceived by the artist for the occasion. For the exhibition project, hosted in MASI's underground hall, the artist will be taking over the space completely, intervening on the floor, pillars, lighting and walls of the hall. New works will also be on show, including a video on a giant screen with a highly sculptural presence.

In his exhibitions, Nashat loves working with spaces to create cohesive multi-sensory environments, and experimenting with unconventional materials such as urethane rubber, resins and gel gloss. He often uses unusual materials to evoke physical and biological features of the human body, conveying abstract feelings and concepts such as intimacy, passion and fragility.Streams of Spleen.
