Babel. Festival of Literature and Translation

In 2025, Babel turns twenty and celebrates with the languages that shaped it and inspired its research in translation and multilingualism: Italian, which, branching out in Ticino, reaches its natural and transgressible borders, and the other Swiss languages, with which, brushing against and interpenetrating, it designs and redraws linguistic and literary geographies with unique and shared characteristics, fertile and open, constantly redefining themselves. On the stage of the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona and in the other festival venues, Italian and Swiss-Italian writers will converge with those who translate them into French and Romansh, and writers from French- and German-speaking Switzerland with those who translate them into Italian.
