This charming village, characterized by lush vegetation particularly rich in vineyards, is part of the Monte San Giorgio, UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the village you can admire views of incomparable beauty of Lake Lugano and the charming village of Riva San Vitale. The Grotto Grassi, reachable within a few minutes’ walk from the center of Tremona, is a great vantage point.
The origins of the village are very old. Recently, traces of settlements have been found covering a period of at least 7,000 years. For this reason, annually archeological excavations are held to bring to light thousands of artifacts that allow us to deal with the past of the entire region. In addition to the excavations, do not miss a visit to the romantic church of St. Agatha, located on one of the main hills surrounding Tremona.
