THROUGHOUT THE YEAR SPECIAL OPENINGS AND GUIDED TOURS ARE POSSIBLE ON REQUEST.

The Leventina Museum invites you to choose:

CLASSIC" VISIT OF THE PERMANENT EXHIBITION
How to tell a culture, define a people, establish who is part of an ethnic group? Who decides? What are the criteria that determine a person's belonging to a certain group?
These questions are the starting point of the visit that will lead to the question whether or not there is a "Levantine identity".
Through the encounter with the people of yesterday and today, the symbols, the ways of life and the history of the Valley each visitor will find his or her own answers to these questions.

TOUR OF GIORNICO
Giornico is a small village with a great wealth of historical monuments. We propose themed visits, on one or more topics, which can be agreed directly with the guide: the churches, the tower of Atto (9th century), the bridges, the old houses, the monument of the battle of the Sassi Grossi (1478), the old arsenal, the island on the river, the grottoes and the vineyards.
Info: 25 persons (max.), 1 h approx., CHF 100 (schools CHF 60.)

FAIDO BELLE ÉPOQUE
During the Belle époque period (1896-1914) Faido became the third largest tourist centre in the Canton. Tourists who, thanks to the construction of the Gotthard railway line, were able to stay in Faido, mainly belonged to the upper middle class and the Milanese nobility.
Starting from the old hotels and villas dating back to that prosperous period, the route winds through the streets of the village or along the panoramic "sentiero dei lazzaroni", frequented by tourists of that time.
Info: 25 people (max.), 1 h approx., CHF 120 (schools CHF 80). It is possible to arrange personalised routes of different lengths according to the participants' needs.

TREASURE HUNT (GIORNICO OR CHIGGIOGNA)
The treasure hunt is an amusing opportunity to take a walk to discover the historical and artistic heritage of the village, enhancing the territory and the objects in the collection of the Museum of Leventina thanks to the support of new technologies. The treasure hunt takes place in teams of investigators who, with the help of smartphones, hunt for virtual clues scattered throughout the village. Those who find the treasure will receive a prize.

Info: duration approx. 2 hours, CHF 150 (schools CHF 100)

PERSONALIZED VISIT
All the proposals mentioned are modular and can be adapted to different ages and audiences.

All visits can also be made in German, French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
