The winery is located in the heart of Vigana, in Camorino, in the Canton of Ticino. The grapes are cultivated on 7 hectares of land with varying exposures and altitudes, conditions that allow for an annual production of approximately 500 quintals of selected grapes. The cultivated varieties include renowned grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, as well as interspecific varieties such as Johanniter.
From the meticulous care devoted to vineyard work, the Ohrell wines are produced, vinified exclusively from estate-grown grapes and all recognized under the IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) designation. The wines of Cantina Altamira are the result of a deep dedication to the land, based on targeted agronomic practices and respect for the uniqueness of the Ticino terroir. Vinification is carefully planned and carried out with close control of cellar processes, with the aim of expressing and enhancing the distinctive characteristics of the Ticino terroir while ensuring consistent quality.
