The horizon widens and the view towards the mountains and the plain which surround the lake is unique. In the rare winter days when there is a thermic inversion the view of the sea of fog gives an idea of how the area could have been during the ice age, when the wide valley was formed.
You can continue on foot from Cardada to the Cardada Alp (1496 m), crossing meadows of brake, followed by birch. You can also take the chair lift to Cimetta (1671m s/l) where there is an even wider view of the landscape, which extends to the surrounding valleys and a sub alpine plain where the trees give way to meadows.
It is possible to reach the Cima della Trosa (1869 m s/l) - whose environment gives a taste of the alpine horizon - on foot.
