Steam train

After an extensive refurbishment, our steam locomotive No. 2 from 1890 is finally back home. She can't wait to puff along the route from Capolago to the summit of Monte Generoso again. Four dates have already been set on the 2026 calendar, between July and August.

Travel Schedule

• Departure from Capolago: 09:45 AM, arrival at the summit at 11:45 AM
• Departure from the Summit: 3:10 PM, arrival in Capolago at 4:30 PM

The novelty for lovers of historical travel is that from this year, the steam train + lunch at the Self-Service package will be available for purchase online.

Reservation required! (Event confirmed with a minimum of 20 participants).

ATTENTION
In case of a total ban on outdoor fires, the steam train will not be able to operate. Participants will be informed by FMG at least 2 days before the event. General Terms and Conditions apply.

If the steam train is unable to operate, FMG will still guarantee the service by replacing it with the Diesel locomotive (Locomotive Thm 1), following the same schedule.
