ChiassoLetteraria, Festival Internazionale di Letteratura

“Cerco un paese innocente” is the title of the 19th edition of ChiassoLetteraria, International Literature Festival, Chiasso (Switzerland) which will have as its leitmotif the search for innocence in the contemporary world, torn apart by wars, economic, social and ecological crises.

A Festival with about thirty events including literary meetings, poetry, essays, performances, symposiums, theater, concerts, DJ sets, but also a poetic-philosophical walk and a theatrical work, specially produced for the festival, which will take place in urban spaces waiting to be discovered. The nineteenth edition of ChiassoLetteraria (Chiasso, Switzerland) entitled Cerco un paese innocente will take place on May 9-11, with previews on May 7 and 8, 2025. The title: “Cerco un paese innocente” In a world torn apart by wars, economic, social and environmental crises, where utopia seems to have no more space, not even that of dreams, in addition to people's lives, human hope and dignity are also taken hostage. Yet shouldn't every living being have the right to live or at least aspire to an innocent country? It then becomes essential - as individuals and as a community - to search for and care for the innocence that remains and that which can be regenerated. If not innocence, what else can save the world? The title of the edition is taken from the last verse of the poem “Girovago” by Giuseppe Ungaretti. Thanks to the meeting with thirty international writers, artists and musicians, it will be an opportunity to reflect on the importance from an ethical perspective of the search for innocence in today's world, torn apart by wars, economic, social and ecological crises.
