Carnival on Lake Maggiore

Carnival is a deeply felt tradition in Ticino, deeply rooted in the region, its cuisine, music, and entertainment.
In the valleys and on Lake Maggiore, each carnival has its own unique characteristics.
Like the masks that invade the village and lakeside of Ascona during the traditional risotto, or the myriad of colors that fill the streets of the Old Town during Locarno's Stranociada.
