Arzo la cava del «rosso» di Giovanni Luisoni

In this exhibition, photographer Giovanni Luisoni presents a selection of large-format images, both color and black-and-white, from his new book, Arzo-La cava del rosso (Salvioni Edizioni).

This work spans twenty years, from early 2004 to 2016. This area of the Patriziato di Arzo lies within the Monte San Giorgio district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003.

"The Arzo quarries are a powerful historical testament to the laborious work of quarrying and working marble that engaged many of our ancestors and fellow citizens, enabling them to support and raise their families while also bringing the name of Arzo to the rest of Europe and the world."

The exhibition is accompanied by the book of the same name; it is available during the exhibition, at bookstores, from the Patriziato, and from the publisher.
