A journey through history: the historical exhibition in Piazza Castello

From 2 June to 31 December 2025, citizens and visitors can immerse themselves in a fascinating open-air exhibition in Piazza Castello, promoted by Lugano Convention & Exhibition and the Culture Division of the City of Lugano. Thanks to the sponsors AIL and Colorlito, the exhibition itinerary narrates in 14 exhibition façades, the evolution of the area on which the Convention Centre stands, from its ancient medieval roots with the Sforza Castle (demolished in 1517), up to the current congress structure. A visual narration through stables, livestock fairs, barracks and adjacent spaces such as the famous Kursaal, which gives a vivid portrait of the city's historical identity.
