Pearls of Virtuosic Music – Virtuosity and Romanticism
The Associazione MUSICA al CUORE invites you to an extraordinary concert evening at the Madonna del Sasso church in Orselina – an event dedicated to virtuosity, expressiveness and musical diversity.
Under the poetic title “Perle di musica virtuosistica”, a multifaceted programme unfolds, balancing classical brilliance with emotional depth. Works by Fritz Kreisler and Camille Saint-Saëns are paired with a movement from a piano trio by Franz Schubert – also known from the film Barry Lyndon.
The programme is further enriched by an original work for solo cello by Adam Ilyas Kurutz, as well as virtuoso arrangements of Eastern European folk music – full of energy, rhythm and improvisational freedom.
On stage, three outstanding artistic personalities come together:
violinist Anton Jablokov, composer and pianist Adam Ilyas Kurutz, and Prof. Orfeo Mandozzi, internationally renowned cellist and artistic director of MUSICA al CUORE.
Anton Jablokov (violin) The Bratislava-born violinist uniquely combines classical virtuosity with elements of jazz, gypsy, folk and world music. As a fourth-generation musician, he represents a vibrant, cross-genre musical language shaped by improvisation, expressiveness and an exceptionally broad repertoire. His performances have taken him, among others, to the BBC Proms and the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
Adam Ilyas Kurutz (composition, piano) An internationally active composer, pianist and music producer, he moves seamlessly between classical, contemporary and experimental music. His work bridges tradition and innovation, exploring the influence of new technologies and artificial intelligence on creativity and artistic authorship. He gained international recognition through collaborations with the duo Rodrigo y Gabriela and through projects with renowned orchestras worldwide.
Prof. Orfeo Mandozzi (cello) As founder and artistic director of MUSICA al CUORE, he shapes the concert series with his visionary idea of making music of the highest level accessible to everyone – immediate, moving and free of charge. An internationally sought-after cellist, he performs regularly in major concert halls around the world and captivates both audiences and critics with his distinctive tone, emotional depth and exceptional stage presence.
An evening full of musical contrasts and colours – virtuosic, romantic and surprising.
