A Name, A Dynasty -Six Generations - 175 years
Giovanni Valsangiacomo founded his winery in 1831. Since then the Company was handed down from generation to generation.
In 1954 the company, as the first Ticinian business, began to produce its own grape varieties and over the years specialized mostly in the production of quality Ticinian wines and fine grappa, knowing how to get the best out of the grape, the land and the Mendrisiotto micro-climate.
The global need of grapes is guaranteed from 16 ha of own vineyards throughout the Morbio, Castel S. Pietrom Vacallo and Pedrinate areas, that make up excellent quality grapes, thanks also to limited production and constant inspection.
During 2005, the company transferred its activity to the renovated winery of Mendrisio. The winery is dug into the rock at the foot of Monte Generoso. In the same picturesque place, Merlot sparkling wine is produced with the classic methods . 175 years of family tradition still know how to produce modern wines. The company, full of tradition, doesn’t fear the spirit and the needs of the modern era, offering products that are always up-to-date with the traditionally passion.
On request we offer visits and tastings for groups of 15 people. The cost is CHF 20 per person: 5 wines served with local products. We rent our charming room for banquets and dinners: cost and conditions on request. External catering service to discuss.
