The Canton of Ticino is a 50-minute drive from Milan's international airport. Malpensa has become an important 'hub' for national European and international flights, guaranteeing good air connections. The airport is well connected by road thanks to the presence of several shuttle buses guaranteeing regular connections between the Lombardy airports of Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, Orio al Serio and Ticino.
In addition, an excellent rail service connects Ticino with Milan Malpensa. The S50 TILO line connects Biasca, Bellinzona, Lugano, Varese and Malpensa, passing through Mendrisio. Trains run every hour, from 4.30 a.m. until 1 a.m., and stop at all regional traffic stations along the route.
Travelling by train to and from the airport offers several advantages: saving on parking costs, avoiding road traffic, and enjoying the journey by leaving and arriving directly at the airport.
