At any time of the year you can organise a visit to Mendrisio to discover the historic Borgo, which tells of a past of great traditions. A visit to the historic centre and the Museo del Trasparente will allow you to discover the reasons that led UNESCO to approve the candidature of Mendrisio's Holy Week Processions in Mendrisio and to include this living tradition in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The visit to the Museo del Trasparente will introduce the discovery of this living tradition and of the painting technique used to create the large translucent paintings that are displayed during the Processions.
