In the footsteps of Hermann Hesse between culture, gastronomy and nature

This tour will give you a close-up insight into the life of the great German author Hermann Hesse and allow you to explore the places where he lived for over 40 years in an enjoyable alternation of culture, local gastronomy and nature.

The guided tour starts from a little charming museum where you will discover lesser-known aspects of this great author. After the visit, we’ll get together at the annexed literary Café Boccadoro for a good glass of local wine – the Merlot white. After that, we’ll set off to the church and cemetery of Gentilino, where Herman Hesse and his wife are buried. In the cool of the woods nearby are a number of “grottos”, small local restaurants rooted in tradition, where Hermann Hesse loved to stop for a rest and where you can enjoy a taste of typical local food or just eat your picnic. Finally, a short stroll will take you back to the Museum.
