Germanionico

Germanonico is an ancient settlement located in the Malvaglia Valley, considered of national importance by the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites (ISOS). It is situated between two springs that rise a short distance from the settlement and consists of 17 mostly wooden buildings that have survived over the years without substantial modifications. For centuries, it was inhabited by farmers, some of whom were permanent residents, who dedicated themselves to cultivation (especially potatoes and rye) and livestock farming (goats and sheep).

A redevelopment project is currently underway: seven rustic buildings have already been restored as part of Phase I. Work on Phase II, which includes five buildings, began in 2023, while projects for Phase III, involving another five rustic buildings, are well underway.
