The hut is located at an altitude of 2172m.s.m. at the southern edge of the vast GREINA plateau on the Alpe di Motterascio from which it takes its name. Ideal place to spend a few days of relaxation and starting point for easy excursions on the plateau of Greina and more challenging climbs to the surrounding peaks all over 3000 m. including the Piz Terri, Piz Coroi, Vial, Gaglianera and Piz Valdraus. The latter is the northernmost point of Ticino and borders the canton of Grigioni. The hut is guarded from mid-June to mid-October and the guardians offer guests traditional Ticino dishes and much appreciated desserts.
