gARTen – Wednesday, 1st July
The opening evening of the gARTen festival is dedicated to artists from the Accademia Teatro Dimitri, presenting performances with a strong emotional and visual impact.
Through different artistic languages — non-verbal theatre, dance, music and acrobatics — the artists invite us to reflect on our everyday lives.
PROGRAMME
7.00 pm: Official opening of the festival.
8.00 pm: The duo CorpoSonoro presents “Albamarea”, an improvised encounter between trapeze and live music. Inspired by the movement of water and waves, the performance explores the continuous flow of life, between emotional tides and constant transformation.
8.30 pm: In “Take a byte before you judge”, Anna Rosito and Luca Gerber use physical theatre and spoken word to reveal the gradual crumbling of a relationship. Amid misunderstandings and the increasingly intrusive presence of artificial intelligence within the couple’s intimate space, the project reflects on contemporary communication and on our ability to truly see one another.
9.00 pm: Margaux Roland and Pauline Mozzini create a poetic tale about friendship and memory inspired by “The Little Prince” with “Bucato di ricordi”. Physical theatre, music and acro-dance merge to tell the unexpected encounter between two different beings who learn to know each other beyond the fear of the unknown.
9.30 pm: “I wanna be yours” by Fabiana Angela Grandin and Flamur Shabanaj explores the dynamics of toxic relationships: between recurring resentment, denied responsibilities and bonds impossible to break, the performance stages an exhausting emotional cycle, observed with lightness and clarity, without seeking culprits but possible ways out.
10.00 pm: The collective SottSora reinterprets “Beauty and the Beast” in “Un’evaporazione fragile”. Fire, ice, dance and acrobatics become tools for exploring the unknown, showing that only by embracing difference can we discover authenticity and a deep connection with ourselves and with others.
From 6.00 pm: park opening with dj leMox, food village and Radio Morcote live station
