The Stranociada

From Thursday to Sunday, the Stranociada returns to Locarno with a warm-up evening, two nights of celebration, and the traditional closing risotto.

Programme

La Stranociada is Locarno’s traditional carnival and brings a festive atmosphere to the town over four days.

Highlights

  • Warm-up evening on Thursday in the Capannone at Piazza Sant’Antonio with free entry
  • Two festive nights on Friday and Saturday through the streets of the Città Vecchia
  • Traditional finale on Sunday with risotto at Piazza Grande

The event is marked by the return of Re Pardo II and Regina Carlotta I, who symbolically reign over this edition of the carnival.
