The exhibition "STEFANO GRAZIANI. Reality Show," curated by Francesco Zanot, presents a selection of photographs by Stefano Graziani, some existing and others previously unpublished, which interact without referring to a single theme.
Architecture, objects, nature, cities, and people appear in his photographs without ever imposing themselves as dominant subjects, but rather as elements of a complex and layered plot. More or less decipherable, the photographs presented here are brought together because they belong to the same historical moment, at the same time: an open, suspended, questioned time. Dysfunctional by choice, they elude the logic of utility and necessity, allowing the gaze and thought to get lost among deviations, details, and clues. Graziani works against expectations, constructing his works like open paintings that encourage dispersion, the proliferation of lateral narratives, and escape.
Everything we see is real, yet sometimes it seems otherwise. Graziani reflects on the status of photography today, within the vortex that brings together documentation and simulation. His works are both proof and denial. It is reality on display. Exposed. This is not an exhibition of reality, but about reality. A reality show.
Throughout the duration of the exhibitions, the TAM regularly offers free open days, guided tours, and special events. The complete program is available at www.tam.usi.ch.
