The woodcutter's pentathlon is an itinerant event organised by BoscoTicino. It takes place every year towards the end of the summer and attracts thousands of people including professionals and the public of all ages.
 

This year the event will take place on Saturday 27th August in Faido in the sports centre area, with activities starting at 9 a.m. a.m. and ending in the evening with dinner and various entertainments.
 

The woodcutter's skill competition (Ticino championship) consisting of five exciting events is accompanied by the forestry fair, the handicraft market, the Mini-Pentathlon for the little ones, the climbing competition and the chainsaw sculpture competition.
 

The Pentathlon was created with the aim of organising a day of fun for the foresters of the Canton of Ticino and their families, promoting the profession of silviculturist, making the forest-wood sector known to the public and giving visibility to companies and associations active in the forestry sector.
 

PROGRAMME:

9 a.m. – a p.m.: Skills competition for foresters from the canton of Ticino

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Crafts market, forest fair and various animations

2 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Minipentathlon, climbing competition (ASIF trophy), chainsaw sculptor competition, open doors at the sawmill and fun activities with Silviva

5.30 p.m.: Award ceremony

6 p.m.: Aperitif and dinner with music
