OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival

If a society is able to recognise, understand and constructively support change, it can maintain its balance by keeping pace with the times. It is within this context that the OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival has chosen to focus its 2026 edition on some of the changes currently shaping our world. It does so by drawing on its areas of interest, using the approach established since 2012. Climate, territory, diversity, identity, integration, sensitivity towards the most vulnerable and the least visible. The formula is solid and tried and tested: screenings – over fifty in total – exhibitions, debates, conferences, music, meetings and socialising. As has been the case for the past fifteen years, we are driven by the desire to act as a bridge between cultures and artistic expressions, with the aim of contributing to a more inclusive society. In this, we believe that OtherMovie has found its own place within Ticino’s independent cultural scene.
