First August celebrations on the Piazza del Sole

Once again this year, the City of Bellinzona celebrates the Christmas of the Homeland. As part of the "Summer in the City" calendar, the City Hall invites the population to spend the evening of Tuesday 1 August in company, meeting as usual on the Piazza del Sole in Bellinzona, with free admission.

The programme for the evening, starting at 5.30 p.m., is as follows:

• 19.00: Risotto offered by the Rabadan Society
• 21.30: Official ceremony with greeting by Mayor Mario Branda. Guest of honour Denise Tonella, Director of the Swiss National Museum
• 22.00: Fireworks display
• During the evening, musical entertainment will be provided by: Sebalter, LaGana, Manupia. Presented by Joas Balmelli

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will instead be the First of August brunch at the Villa dei Cedri Museum. Information and registration at www.villacedri.ch
