Marcheton Biasca

Marchethon is a run/walk to raise funds for cystic fibrosis or mucoviscidosis.

It takes place throughout Switzerland, and the 20th edition will be held in Biasca on Saturday, 7 September 2024.

It is a day for everyone with a running competition for children and a popular walk. Among the various free animations: inflatables, children's make-up, trampolines, hip-hop and theatre performances, live music.
Aperitifs at noon and in the evening, lunch offered to those registered for the races or the walk, and a well-stocked refreshment bar all day long. A snack will also be offered to children.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease, which affects the lungs and the digestive system.  This causes the body to produce thick, sticky mucus in an unusual way, which obstructs the lungs, leading to very dangerous lung infections, the pancreas, preventing the secretion of substances necessary for the absorption of food, the liver and the intestines. It is the most frequent genetic disease in Europe and affects 1 in 2500 children. In Switzerland there are about 1000 sufferers.
