Magliaso–Agno Community Swim
The event, open to athletes, amateurs and simply those who love the lake, will once again combine physical activity, solidarity and conviviality in a stunning natural setting. The swim, approximately 1.5 kilometres long, will start at the Lido di Magliaso and finish at the Agno Lakeside Park.
Participation is open to everyone aged 14 and over (12 years old for holders of a competitive licence and personal insurance).
The event is non-competitive: the main aim is to share an accessible, safe sporting experience with a strong human dimension. The proceeds from the initiative will be donated to Greenhope – Sports Against Cancer and the “Fondazione romanda cani guida per ciechi”, two organisations actively committed to supporting people and families facing significant daily challenges.
Safety along the route will be ensured by the Swiss Lifesaving Society – Lugano Branch, which will accompany participants throughout the crossing, whilst the Agno Samaritan Branch will provide its support.
The ambassador for the 2026 edition will be Alessandro Veletta, also known as “Cavaliere Delpho” for his swimming feats, all of which he has achieved using the butterfly stroke.
The day’s programme includes a welcome for the swimmers at the Agno Lakeside Park from 9:20 am, a free transfer by FLP train to Magliaso; the official start of the swim will be at 10:30 am.
The organisers invite everyone to take part or support the event along the route and at the finish line, to enjoy a morning together in the spirit of sport, solidarity and community.
