GalAthletics Bellinzona 2026 - The great spectacle of world athletics in Ticino

Starting in 2026, GalAthletics Bellinzona officially carries forward the prestigious legacy of the historic Galà dei Castelli, further establishing itself as one of the most important events in Swiss, European and international athletics. Its outstanding quality is confirmed by the global rankings: the meeting currently holds 23rd place in the World Athletics global ranking, rising to an impressive 8th place overall when Diamond League meetings are excluded.

The track and field facilities of Bellinzona will host some of the world’s finest athletes. The level of competition is exceptional: at the latest edition, a total of 220 medal-winning athletes took part, including 7 Olympic champions, 21 World Champions and 11 European Champions. It is a unique opportunity for athletics fans and spectators to watch their sporting heroes compete from just a few metres away, immersed in an extraordinary atmosphere of excitement and support.

• The City Market: at Bellinzona’s historic market in Piazza Nosetto, families, children and young athletics enthusiasts will have the chance to meet national and international champions in person, take photographs and collect autographs.
• Kid’s GalA: a magical experience entirely dedicated to children, who will be able to train and spend valuable time alongside athletics stars while receiving useful sporting advice.
• The Village Outside the Stadium: an open space for the entire community (also accessible to those without a stadium ticket), ideal for enjoying the festive atmosphere.
