Franca D'Alfonso's "Geometric Classic" exhibition

Interesting and worthy of mention, her training began several years ago with painting classes at the Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts in Como. After an initial period characterized by a predominantly figurative style, our artist began to feel the allure of the historical avant-garde, and understood the fundamental importance of the emotional element over the merely descriptive and contemplative. Thus, her expression gradually began to evolve, abandoning the objectivity of "true" to become more intimate and collected, more spiritual and psychological. Franca D'Alfonso certainly felt the allure of Geometric Abstraction, where every reference to reality is erased, where everything becomes form and color. Her research therefore focused fully on the geometric construction of forms, on light and color, understood as the almost absolute protagonists of her constructions.
