European artistic craft days

GEMA 2024: Celebrating the Métiers d'Art with the fifth event in Riva San Vitale. 

The European Artistic Crafts Days (GEMA) mark an important milestone with their fifth edition, an event that has established itself as a reference in the European cultural landscape. Initiatives that came to life some 20 years ago in France, then spread throughout Europe, and in Switzerland, in Geneva, they made their debut some ten years later.?
In 2018, the Canton of Ticino hosted the first GEMAs on Ticino soil. 

The Swiss Association of Artistic Craftsmen (ASMA) is the promoter and coordinator at the national level, involving new participating cantons every year, currently six in total. The participating artisans are listed in the Métiers d'Art catalogue, which can be viewed at www.metiersdart.ch.? 

Thanks to the collaboration between ASMA, the canton of Ticino and DECS, Aticrea is able to constructively promote the discourse on artistic trades. 

The GEMA event is composed of two distinct moments: 

1. The visit to the craft workshops, to be booked on booking.aticrea.ch. 
2. The event promotion event, which this year will take place in Riva San Vitale, in the exhibition rooms of the Town Hall. The event will include an exhibition of the works of the participating artisans, an infopoint and the possibility of booking visits on booking.aticrea.ch.
