Documentary - SCAM and its first 60 years

In 2023, SCAM - a choir from Leventina celebrated its 60th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, Nicolas Joray accompanied the choir for a year with his camera during activities, rehearsals and concerts.

‘Singing to live and feel good together’ is the leitmotif of the SCAM, which is reflected in the small and amusing side stories between rehearsals and between musical performances on various stages throughout the canton of Ticino.

The SCAM choir was founded in Giornico in September 1963 under the name ‘Società Corale Aziendale Monteforno’. In 1994, following the closure of the steelworks, the name was changed to ‘Società Corale Amici della Montagna’, while retaining the acronym SCAM. The SCAM choir thus became the last surviving testimony of Monteforno.
