Cheese-Festival introduces itself to the Ticino public.
In the picturesque setting of Piazza Manzoni, there will be an opportunity to learn about the extraordinary variety of cheese production from Ticino and neighboring regions. The undisputed star of the event will be Ticino's DOP alpine cheese. No other cheese expresses the specificities and peculiarities of the area, produced with such passion and expertise in the alpine pastures of the Ticino valleys. Space will also be made for specialties, fresh raclette cheeses and tasty innovations.
Giving a supra-regional touch to the festival will be some cheese makers from beyond the Gotthard and neighboring Italy with their tasty delicacies. Let yourself be tantalized, immerse yourself in the warm Mediterranean atmosphere accompanied by folk music while tasting a good piece of cheese!
The history and tradition of Swiss cheese all to be discovered at the cheese chalet with its taste tower and for the younger ones the demonstration dairy and milking competition (with a life-size cow silhouette).
