Calonico Mill - Swiss Mill Day

Appointment for the day: From 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Ticino folk music, barbecue, drinks, cakes, coffee, wood-fired bread, demonstration of the mill and wood-fired oven, children's mill, and flea market.

The Calonico mill, dating back to 1813, is an important historical witness to the culture and technology of the Leventina Valley. The association, founded in 1989, aims to preserve and maintain the mill's activity and operation for future generations.

Since 1994, the Calonico mill has been operational again and is the focus of the evocative Mill Festivals every year. With more than eighty members, the association contributes to enriching contact between the local population and vacationers from German-speaking Switzerland, whose ties to the area sometimes span several decades.
