CCP07 – Architectures in Transition – 17 Architectures from Mexico City
Cities Connection Project | CCP
Founded in 2012 by architects Nicola Regusci and Xavier Bustos, Cities Connection Project promotes cultural exchange between architecture studios from different regions, aiming to create a network of city connections and highlight contemporary architecture. The project unfolds in three stages, each hosted by a participating city, and includes an exhibition featuring 60 architectural projects, public meetings, debates, lectures, a publication, and guided tours. Each edition revolves around a common theme that encourages reflection on urban transformations.
CCP07 – Architectures in Transition – 17 Architectures from Mexico City
The CCP07 edition explores the reuse of the built heritage and social responsibility as tools for a more ethical and sustainable architecture. Climate change and new sustainability policies increasingly influence architectural practice, prompting architects and professionals to reflect on their role toward the environment and society. The projects presented promote the reuse of existing spaces, energy efficiency, durable materials, and the creation of spaces that encourage meeting and interaction among users.
After completing the three connection stages in Barcelona, Brussels, and Luxembourg, the exhibition was presented in other cities – including Madrid, Bilbao, Coimbra, and Riga – before arriving in Mexico City for the Mextrópoli 2025 festival, integrating high-quality local projects.
This Mexican selection, now on view at the Limonaia of Villa Saroli, represents a direct dialogue between different architectural cultures and demonstrates how architecture can address contemporary urban challenges without losing identity and design quality.
