Bici-Theatre, on the trail of "Il ladro di ragazze"

Inspired by Carlo Silini's book 'Il ladro di ragazze' (The Girl Thief), Mendrisiotto Turismo and PubliBike are pleased to present Ticino's first Bici-Theatre. A unique theatrical ride.

In the saddle of a PubliBike e-bike and accompanied by a guide, participants will be able to discover the seventeenth-century places that characterise the Mendrisiotto environment described in the novel, and meet some of the characters narrated in the book who lived in that era and in those places.

This itinerant theatrical experience, which is intended to be engaging and convey new emotions, also allows us to think back to an era long gone.

Starting point: Piazzale, Via Segoma 16, 6850 Capolago

How to get there: The starting point is easily reached by train. The Capolago-Riva San Vitale railway station is only 350 metres away. Alternatively, you can arrive by car, parking spaces are available

Planned dates: 17 June / 1 July / 29 July / 26 August / 9 September / 23 September 2023

Departure time: 5 p.m. (dinner at approx. 8 p.m.)

Number of participants: min. 12 - max. 30 people

Total distance covered: 9 km (cycling in stages of 5-15 minutes)

Duration: approx. 5 hours (dinner included)

Difficulty: easy

Included: PubliBike e-bike, guide, dinner (pork knuckle, potatoes and a soft drink, a vegetarian variant is available)

What to bring: comfortable clothes, sports shoes, water bottle. In Switzerland, wearing a helmet is not compulsory for bicycles and pedal-assisted bicycles with a speed below 25 km/h. However, we recommend that you still wear a helmet for safe cycling.

PubliBike: Download the PubliBike app available in the App Store for IOS and Android (you need to download this app to unlock the bike). Enter the required data and a credit card, for guarantee purposes only. No additional costs will be charged on top of what has already been paid.

In case of bad weather unfortunately the tour will be cancelled. You will be notified the day before the event by noon (by e-mail) and reimbursed as soon as possible.
