Between the Sacred and Tango: Requiem by M. Palmeri, Swiss Premiere

The Lugano Choir from Buenos Aires – born from the migration of our ancestors in the last century – returns to its Ticino Lugano to meet the descendants of those who never emigrated to South America. An encounter brought to life through music.
The programme features the Swiss premiere of a Requiem in tango style by Martín Palmeri, composer best known for his MisaTango. On stage: the Lugano Choir from Buenos Aires, the Superar Lugano Youth Orchestra, and Argentine soloists – singer, pianist, and bandoneonist.
The concert closes with over 100 children from Lugano singing alongside the Argentine choir, accompanied by the young musicians of Superar. A meeting across generations and continents, bound by the same roots.
