In the 127-year history of the Swiss Federal Wrestling Association, Ticino will for the first time officially host Switzerland's oldest sport. 

The First Ticino Cantonal Swiss Wrestling Festival will take place in Cadenazzo on Saturday 17 September 2022. More than 200 athletes will be present, with the big names meeting three weeks earlier at the Federal Wrestling Festival in Basel-Landschaft. This is a pride and a unique opportunity for Ticino, which will be able to welcome the great wrestlers and the loyal public from beyond the Gotthard for a day of sport rich in tradition and culture.

The competitions will last the whole day, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by the prize-giving ceremony. The evening will then continue with a barbecue and musical entertainment typical of Ticino folklore: an opportunity to make our territory even more known to the confederates and to experience emotions and traditional ambience.
