Shortbreads of Bedretto Valley


Those who have never tasted this shortbread, must absolutely try it and treat their taste buds to an unforgettable moment. The main ingredient is butter from the Ticino Alps that gives the ‘shortbread’ an irresistible delicacy, a crumbly consistency and an attractive golden colour.
This biscuit with its unmistakable "S" shape originates from Valle Bedretto, where it has been produced for over one hundred years. Today, the tradition continues thanks to Mrs. Agnese Leonardi who prepares a small but excellent quantity of shortbread twice a week.
