Ever since the event's inception in 1946, the Settimane Musicali di Ascona have been a recurring and much-appreciated appointment that has become part of the tradition and musical landscape of the Lake Maggiore region and the Canton of Ticino. A point of reference for enthusiasts - residents and tourists - and at the same time a solid and rich event that punctuates the calendar of events that come to life on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
The programme, in which all genres of classical music are represented, is always consistent and allows for 6 to 7 symphonic concerts, 2 to 3 concerts with chamber orchestras or choirs, and 5 to 6 between recitals of individual instruments and concerts of small chamber ensembles (duo, trio, quartet).
