The farm probably dates back to the 18th century and is a typical traditional agricultural settlement with a courtyard, Lombardy’s stile, which presents various elements typical of the peasant and artisan tradition of the past, such as the water sawmill used until 1987 by brothers Giovanni and Natale Bernasconi, the three millstones operated by their hydraulic wheels, the bread oven and various rooms used for housing, cellars and warehouses. The farm, currently under renovation, is located inside the Mendrisio highway junction and is bordered by the Laveggio river; it is scheduled for the summer season 2020 and the site will be used for events and demonstration purposes.
