As always with the Lugano Festival, we are used to the presence of big music in the town on Lake Ceresio. Mainly dedicated to classical music, but open to other forms of artistic expressions as well, this festival represents both a cultural and tourist attraction. The programme is divided into two parts: the first features around a dozen concerts with widely renowned orchestras, musicians, soloists and directors.
It is now established that the second part of the Lugano Festival is based around the Martha Argerich Project, focusing on the charismatic pianist from Argentina. Thanks to her genius, the Lugano Festival transforms itself into a true cultural and musical melting pot when the guest musicians come together in a wonderful artistic alliance. An adventure which started in 2001, both younger and more well known artists have remained faithfull to this date and are joined every year by other players from the international music scene.
