We invite you to visit the medieval settlement that is located on the hill north of the centre of Tremona.
The archaeological site is open all year round and can be reached on foot along the official path that, through the woods, takes as its destination the "Archaeological Park".
The park offers a detailed reconstruction of the daily life of a rural village through a series of panels, which illustrate subjects such as: the work of the blacksmith, the women and their activities, the development of the village and the feeding.
To explore the route, we recommend buying the official maps of the Federal Office of Topography Swisstopo. In addition, the following website map.geo.admin.ch offers constantly updated data.
The path that starts from Tremona and goes up through the woods to the top of the hill is open to everyone, there are no particular difficulties and along the way there are 4 benches in the shade.
The path that starts from Meride and goes up to the hill of the village is a bit more challenging and not suitable for those who have motor difficulties. Also suitable for children.
