Imagine the scene: a large lawn or the edge of a swimming pool, teams gathered together with nothing but cardboard, tape, scissors and a handful of recycled materials. The goal? To build a boat that will compete in a real water race!
At first, amid laughter and sceptical looks, someone exclaims, “But it will never float with cardboard!”— and that's when the magic of team building kicks in. The groups get organised, some draw the design on paper, others start cutting, others stick tape as if it were NASA's secret weapon. The energy grows: each team becomes a small improvised shipyard, with brilliant ideas and extravagant solutions.
The highlight comes when the boats take shape: some look like elegant canoes, others resemble modern sculptures... but they all have one mission: to float and carry their brave crews to the finish line.
The race is a mix of adrenaline and comedy: the first oars (strictly improvised) begin to move, water splashes everywhere, the boats sway between precarious stability and unexpected triumphs. Some advance with surprising elegance, while others find themselves taking a dip after three metres, to general laughter.
In the end, it doesn't matter who wins: the real success is the shared fun, the creativity exploded into a thousand forms, and the feeling of having teamed up until the last stroke of the oar. An activity that leaves indelible memories... and maybe even some embarrassing photos to take out at the next company dinner.
