Simone Locarni, in his third solo recording project, returns to European stages with his multi-award-winning solo piano recital, which recently made him the winner of the Bettinardi Prize as Best Young Italian Soloist 2024 and above all of the 14th European Young Artists' Award in Burghausen (DE), Europe's top prize for young jazz musicians.
Among the characteristics of this new project is undoubtedly the research and great formal variety, which manifests itself both in Locarni's original compositions and in the pieces taken from great monuments of jazz history such as Ornette Coleman and Andrew Hill. The concert thus portrays a path that stems from a constant and dialectic relationship with the past, to finally propose a modern and personal vision of the piano solo in jazz.
